OUR CONFERENCES

CEO & Executive Leadership

Since 1990, EFCG has hosted its annual legacy CEO Conference, bringing together executive leaders from across the A/E/C space to engage on the industry’s biggest challenges.

This year’s conference will welcome roughly 200 people. EFCG continues to work with the event venue, the Four Seasons Hotel Denver, to monitor the progression of COVID-19 and the delta variant as well as the US, Denver, and world health guidelines.

Update as of September 16, 2021

For All Attendees: As of September 16th, the Four Seasons Hotel Denver is now requiring all conference attendees to provide their vaccination status by filling out a vaccination status survey provided by EFCG. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination at the hotel. If for any reason you do not have proof of vaccination, you will instead need the results of a negative COVID-19 test (the results of which you have obtained within 24 hours of the start of the conference).

For Unvaccinated Attendees: As noted, in addition to filling out the vaccination status survey, the Four Seasons requests proof of a negative COVID-19 test 24 hours prior to the event. Alternatively, EFCG is offering an interactive Virtual Attendance Option for those who prefer not to take a COVID-19 test.

You can learn more about the Virtual Attendance Option and COVID-19 Event Precautions below. Thank you for your help as EFCG makes sure to follow federal, state, and local guidelines for the safety of event attendees.

32nd Annual CEO Conference (In-Person)

EFCG is back in-person with its 2021 Annual CEO Conference from September 28-30. Finally with a chance to reconnect with peers, this event will bring together Presidents, CEOs, and COOs from across the A/E/C Industry to network, reflect, and discuss the key issues and opportunities their firms are facing. EFCG will present data and insights from its latest annual A/E/C Industry CEO Survey, contextualized in our 32-years of proprietary data. Event sessions will also welcome industry leaders and experts as panelists to share their assessment of what’s happening in the space.

More on this year’s conference sessions, speakers, and panelists, including Keynote Robert Glazer, can be found in the agenda and below.

All participant firms are required to complete a detailed A/E/C Industry CEO survey, the results of which are presented at the conference and drive a significant portion of the agenda. All survey participants will receive confidential, industry-aggregated data reports and presentations.

Reconnect. Reflect. Be Part of the Experience.

Virtual Attendance Option

We recognize not everyone is able to travel this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. For anyone who is unable to attend in person, we are offering a virtual option that will provide live stream viewing for our main sessions and access to an interactive online platform where virtual participants can ask panelists questions and connect with those attending both in-person and virtually. We want to provide this option to keep all attendees engaged and connected with peers throughout the event no matter where they are across the world. To learn more, email Dimitri Milionis at dmilionis@efcg.com.

Update as of September 16, 2021

EFCG continues to work with the event venue, the Four Seasons Hotel Denver, to monitor the progression of COVID-19 and the delta variant as well as the US, Denver, and world health guidelines.

For Unvaccinated Attendees: As noted, in addition to filling out the survey, the Four Seasons requests proof of a negative COVID-19 test 24 hours prior to the event (the results of which you have obtained within 24 hours of the start of the conference). Alternatively, EFCG is offering an interactive Virtual Attendance Option for those who prefer not to take a COVID-19 test.

Denver COVID-19 Testing Sites: For those planning to take a test before the event, or those interested in taking a test at the close of the event, the Four Seasons Denver works directly with Elevation Diagnostics which will allow you to schedule a virtual appointment and purchase a self-administered test kit from the hotel front desk. More information is available here. Alternatively, you can find a list of available sites in the attached Denver COVID-19 Testing Sites Document we have compiled for your reference here.

EFCG COVID-19 Event Precautions:

Guest Safety:

  • All meals will have outdoor spaces available, contingent on weather.

  • All meals at the Four Seasons will be full-service “touchless” buffets, with plexiglass dividers and banquet and chef attendants serving food and wearing appropriate PPE (gloves and masks).

  • Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the banquet level.

  • Masks are welcome but not mandatory. EFCG will have masks available for attendees.

  • All microphones used at the event go through an advanced sterilization process after every use.

  • When greeting fellow attendees, conference protocol will be to wave or exchange elbow bumps rather of than hug and shake hands.

  • The hotel has top-of-the-line air filtration systems, which enable the Four Seasons to provide a safe environment for the attendees without having to alter the space.

  • Each guest room and meeting room has its own air filter. Guest rooms have positive airflow so only fresh air flows into the guestrooms.

The Four Seasons Hotel Staff Requirements:

  • All employees self-temperature check upon arrival to the hotel and are asked to not come to work if they are sick or feel any symptoms of illness.

  • All indoor staff are required to wear masks on property.

The primary focus of this conference is to help CEOs better manage the leadership, strategy, finances, profitability and funding of their firms.  All participating firms are required to complete a detailed financial survey, covering over 150 different business metrics including past and projected performance.  This data is analyzed and presented by EFCG at the conference, and is followed by several panels, speakers and workshops, each covering a different set of topics and issues raised by the survey.  Over the past 28 years, this data and the discussion at the CEO Conference, have become the primary source of data for CEOs in this industry, by which to plan their business strategies, to help identify key challenges, and to lead and improve their firm's performance.

Key Topics to be covered this year include:

Industry trends and outlook

Preparing your business for a recession

What really drives profitability

Diversification – what does it take to be successful?

Ownership transitions vs leadership transitions

Managing and motivating your leadership team

Advantages / disadvantages of different ownership models

Post-merger integration

Competing for talent

Trends in cybersecurity
